Daniel Young works in Public Relations. He works and lives in Sydney. Daniel originally hails from a small town called Sidcup in North Kent, England. He moved to Australia in June 2004.
Daniel has worked in the technology sector throughout his career consulting to some of the largest enterprise and consumer technology companies around.
Daniel is interested in the benefits and impact of new technology and social media on the marketing industry as well its impact on society at various levels. Daniel works with his clients to develop and implement digital PR programs, he has been quoted in the media on social media and related topics and has spoken at numerous conferences and events.
Daniel is resistant to the ’social media is going to change everything for the better’ school of thought. He believes that social media ‘lives in business culture and not in campaigns’. Daniel is very interested in the changes that will be delivered by technology and wary of the advocates and authorities that profess unwavering faith in its positive influence.
Daniel chose Just Another 24 Hours as the title of his blog to reflect the fact that small changes are occuring every day. Daniel believes that it will be a long time before we truly understand the impact of this process of change and that we should be spend more time scrutinising the impact of technology rather than getting over excited about the potential and features of the tools.
Daniel really values feedback and comments. In this spare time, Daniel likes to play and watch football (soccer), socialise, paint (occasionally) and travel. He lives with his partner Kate in Bondi.
