I agree with your take-out, Dan. The key bits for me were:
•	Set your own measures;
•	Fail wisely;
•	Remember that 90% of communication is offline; and
•	There’s an inherent problem in defining trust. If marketers are out there to influence conversations had online or had at the pub, how do we know who and what is real? There are hidden agendas everywhere – even in communication that is seemingly direct and honest! It will be interesting to see where this goes…

Thanks Des.

I agree. There were some impactful and creative campaigns cited yesterday, which did quite the opposite. They abused people's trust and that was the strategy. It may be successful by some measures but I can't see how it is sustainable...

Great list of points and a prompt for me to do my own, some of which will be shared. Confetti economy was good, "failing wisely" and the reminder that so much conversation is non-verbal and so much offline were particularly valuable points. On the trust thing, I was mindful yesterday of the old line which goes something like "sincerity is everything and if you can fake that you've got it made". We do indeed need to protect and foster trust.
